This is the novel of the same name of my long poem "Mountain Ghost". It depicts the love story of a frontier town living in the Mourning Mountains of Yunnan from the 1980s and 1990s to the 21st century. The novel takes Hu Suyu, the modern image of the mountain ghost in Qu Yuan's "Nine Songs", as its main line, and blends historical background and inner entanglements to depict the entanglement and reconciliation between modern women and tradition.
